Two tourists from Rio Grande do Sul were shot while heading to Barra do Cahy beach, in the municipality of Prado, Bahia, last Tuesday, 24th. Eight adults and four teenagers were caught by the Military, Federal and Civil Police and firearms and ammunition were seized from the group, stated the Bahia Public Security Secretariat (SSP-BA). The names of the victims were not released and their health status was not detailed.
In testimony, the victims said that they were driving in a car on a trip through the region, when they saw a blockage on the road and tried to avoid it, when a group of people with their faces painted fired shots at the vehicle.
Still according to the SSP-BA, the eight adults were arrested in the act and the four teenagers were apprehended. Four rifles and two revolvers were seized from them, one 12 caliber and the other 38, as well as ammunition. The group was accused of attempted murder, criminal association, illegal possession of firearms and corruption of minors, according to the Federal Police.
