Two people died after their ski mountaineering on Thursday morning in the Valtellina valley in the northern Italian region of Lombardy swept away by an avalanche. TASR informs about it according to the report of ANSA and DPA agencies.
The victims are 25-year-old Alberto De Maron and 28-year-old Marika Mascheronová – the sister of Katie Mascheronová, a member of the women’s national ski mountaineering team. They were in a trio on the mountains with another person who was not harmed and who later called rescuers.
