The red alert for rain accumulation indicates precipitation exceeding 60 mm/h or above 100 mm/day
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) maintains large part of Brazil under heavy rain warning this Friday the 27th. Among the affected locations is part of the State of Minas Geraisalready punished by recent rainfall that left people dead and missing.
The red alert for rain accumulation indicates precipitation exceeding 60 mm/h or above 100 mm/day. “Great risk of flooding and river overflows and landslides, in cities with such risk areas”, states the institute.

An orange alert is also in force this Friday for the incidence of intense rain. “Rain between 30 and 60 mm/h or 50 and 100 mm/day and intense winds of 60 to 100 km/h”, adds Inmet.
