How to transfer photos from cell phone to PC; check out 3 simple ways

As the cell phone camera has become the main photographic “memory” of everyday life, it shouldn’t take long for your device’s gallery to fill up. In that case, transferring photos to the PC is no longer a detail and has become a necessary task for those who like capturing images.

Currently, there are two main ways to transfer photos from your cell phone to your PC: copy directly via cable or sync via the cloud. There are even official resources to do this on Android and iPhone phones.

How to transfer photos from cell phone to PC

On both Android smartphones and iPhone, the most common ways to transfer photos include using a USB cable and sending them via cloud storage services, among other options.

3. Via cabo USB

Cable transfer remains the most direct way, but perhaps not the simplest. Here, you connect, choose the right mode on your cell phone and copy the photos to your PC.

On Android, the process usually involves clicking a USB notification and choosing the correct option for file transfer. In addition to the cable, it may be necessary to install a support application in Windows to authorize the connection directly to the device.

No Android:

  • Unlock the cell phone and connect it to the PC with a USB cable;
  • Tap the USB notification on your cell phone and select “File transfer” (the nomenclature may differ depending on the cell phone model);

  • On the PC, open the “My Computer” menu and select your cell phone;
  • Okay, now just choose the correct folder and start transferring your photos.

No iPhone:

  • First, install the “Apple Devices” app on your PC;
  • Now connect iPhone to PC via USB;
  • Unlock your iPhone and tap “Allow” when the notification appears;
  • In the Windows Photos app, click “Import” and select the photos to be transferred to the PC.

2. Google Photos

O works as an option for transfer between cell phone and PC, especially when backup is activated. This way, the photos are available on the web and can be downloaded to become a local copy on your computer.

How to transfer via Google Photos:

  • Access Google Photos through the browser;
  • Select the photos or videos you want;
  • Click on the three dots icon in the top right corner and select “Download”;

  • Ready, your photos will be downloaded in a compressed folder.

If you are an iPhone user and only use iCloud Photos, you can do a very similar process to Google Photos. In truth, This tip applies to almost all cloud services available.

1. WhatsApp or e-mail

Perhaps the simplest way to transfer photos from your cell phone to your PC, on Android or iPhone, is send them by email or WhatsApp.

If you choose the messaging app, you can go to your computer and download the files easily. Although, Images are often compressed and may lose quality after sending on WhatsApp; if they are sent as a document, the quality is maintained.

By email, simply attach the photos and open the message on your computer to download. With this option, the files do not lose quality and they are still saved in your inbox for later access, but there is a limit to the number you can send.
