Israeli army says Iran launched missiles in retaliation for attack

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported this Saturday (28) that Iran launched missiles towards Israeli territory in response to attacks by the US and Israel.

According to a statement released by the Army, warning sirens were activated in several regions of the country after the identification of projectiles coming from Iranian territory.

The Israeli Army also stated that the Air Force is in operation to intercept and “neutralize threats when necessary”, in a coordinated action by the country’s missile defense systems.

The statement does not detail how many missiles were launched, which specific regions were targeted or whether there has been material damage and casualties so far.

The note highlights, however, that the protection “is not airtight”, reinforcing the importance of the population maintaining discipline and complying with safety guidelines.

In the statement, the IDF asked the population to strictly follow the guidelines of the body responsible for civil defense and protection protocols in attack situations.
