File material related to proposals for the conditional release of the former boss of the Banská Bystrica underworld Mikuláš Černák from prison already located at the Regional Court in Trnava. Court spokeswoman Jana Kondákorová confirmed this to TASR. The district court in Trnava, although last year He did not release Černak from prison, but the decision is not final. The regional court will have the main say.
“The file material of the Trnava District Court was submitted to the regional court on February 5, 2026. The file is with the judge for study. It is not yet known when the matter will be decided,” Kondákorová zoomed in. The district court rejected proposals for conditional release of Černák on September 24, 2025. The public meeting was held under strict security measures in the premises of the Leopoldov prison.
The court then concluded that it is not possible to reasonably expect Černak to lead a normal life after parole. The chairman of the senate pointed out that Černak criminal activity performed in a serious, cruel and socially unacceptable manner. Černak spoke after the court’s decision about disappointment, his defense about precedent. The prosecutor considered the decision fair.
The proposal for the conditional release of Černák from prison was submitted by the civic association Reštart-nový život. At a public meeting in May 2024, Černak asked that the proposal for dismissal be decided on the basis that it is also his personal proposal. He repeatedly regretted the committed deeds.
The former boss of the Banská Bystrica underworld is serving a life sentence for planning, executing and participating in several murders. Life convicts can apply for parole after 25 years in prison.
