Podcast

In the “Alta Definição” episode, Daniel Oliveira talks with fado singer João Braga who revisits personal and professional memories, revealing a life marked both by episodes of adversity and by passion for art, especially fado. Listen on podcast

Fado singer João Braga shares decisive episodes from his childhood, such as the accident that affected his health and his father’s strict education, but also his early fascination with the world of music. Fado emerges not only as a vocation, but as a space for self-discovery and shared emotion — all the more significant when the artist recalls his flight to Spain after the 25th of April, and reports how his house was broken into and robbed, confessing that “it was one of the worst feelings of my entire life”.

Still, João Braga does not forget the aggregating and transformative role of fado: “Fado is above all emotion, much more than gingão”. High Definition was shown on February 28th on SIC.
