Since the death of his mother, Maria de Lourdes, in August 2024, Manuel Luís Goucha has been remembering his mother through social media, reporting on letters and/or outbursts written by the family matriarch.
This Monday, March 2, the TVI presenter decided to share again, this time about the promises made by Maria de Lourdes, which he discovered in one of her mother’s diaries.
“You already know that, every now and then, I like to share with you things that I discover about my mother. I continue to discover things about my mother and it’s a lot of fun and very exciting. In fact, I’ve been experiencing grief very calmly, with lots of love (…) and with lots of smiles, because the things I discover about my mother lead me to that”he began by saying.
After emphasizing that the mother was not involved in “Church things” and mentioning that only in the last years of her mother’s life did she “religiously pray the rosary”, the presenter then decided to read some of the “promises” made by the mother, laughing a lot.
“Therefore, my mother’s promises always had to do with a great sacrifice for her, which was to stop eating sweets. And it’s true, my mother was very greedy. So much so that my mother, until the last of her days, until the last day of her 101st year of life, she ate a dessert every day, every day. What’s more, she was crazy about ice cream (…) she would eat 3, 4, 5, 6 Cornettos if necessary at once”realized.
