Washington/Goma – The US has imposed sanctions on Rwanda’s armed forces and four senior commanders over their support for the M23 militia in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Without the active support of the Rwandan military, the militia’s offensives, which captured key cities and mining regions in eastern Congo last year, would not have been possible, the US Treasury Department said.
