Israeli troops were carrying out incursions on some stretches of the Lebanese border, a Lebanese official told Reuters on Tuesday (3).
Witnesses said the Lebanese army had withdrawn from at least seven forward operating positions along the border.
Understand the case
Israel’s offensive came after the country sent attacks to several settlements and villages in southern Lebanon, while attacks continue to take place in the region.
“They are forcing the Israel Defense Forces to take strong action against him, and we have no intention of harming them,” said Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee.
The order ordered affected residents to stay at least 1,000 meters from their villages. For them, anyone near Hezbollah facilities would be “putting their life at risk.”
Despite a United in November 2024, Israel continues to attack targets in Lebanon, citing alleged violations by Hezbollah — allegations the group denies.
