South Park creator launches viral campaign to send Barron Trump to war in Iran

Internet users quickly made memes calling for Trump’s youngest son to be sent into the conflict

The campaign satirizes politicians’ insensitivity to the human impact of wars, encouraging Trump to send his own son to the battlefield.

A satirical website that encourages the enlistment of Barron Trump, President Donald Trump’s youngest son, in the US Armed Forces, went viral after the start of the conflict against Iran, generating the hashtag #SendBarron.

The website, , was created by Toby Mortonformer South Park screenwriter, following “Operation Epic Fury”, the joint military campaign that targeted Iranian leadership and military infrastructure.

During a brief speech at a recent Medal of Honor ceremony, Trump focused largely on plans for a new White House ballroom rather than addressing the deaths and human cost of the conflict. The site thus ironizes the political leaders’ indifference to the human cost of wars and raises the question: would there be so many conflicts if it were the families of those responsible who suffered the consequences?

In this context, Morton’s website launches an appeal for Trump to send his 19-year-old son, Barron, into military service. The site sarcastically praises the “courage” and “proven genes” of the Trump family.

“America is strong because its leaders are strong. President Trump proves this every day. Naturally, your son Barron is more than ready to defend the country that his father commands so boldly”, he says.

The page also includes absurd fictitious testimonies attributed to Trump. “People come up to me, with tears in their eyes, and say, “Lord, you are the strongest. Send Barron to war.” I have always been strong. Very strong. Stronger than anyone expected. Some say I’m the strongest of all time. And strength matters. Believe me,” Trump’s alleged quote reads.

There’s still room to lampoon the rest of the Trump family, including Donald Jr. and Eric. “People always say I’m stupid, which is completely unfair, because I really like pancakes. Pancakes are complex. There’s the mass, the fire, the time. If you do it in a hurry, you ruin everything. I think about pancakes a lot. Especially on pancakes,” says Eric Trump’s supposed quote.

The idea quickly went viral on social media. A user made a montage with the famous Uncle Sam and Barron dressed as a soldier with the name “Bone Spurs Jr”, in reference to the bone spur diagnosis that Donald Trump used to avoid enlistment in the Vietnam War. Family members of the podiatrist who passed the document later stated that it had been a favor done to Trump’s father.

Others believe that the conflict with Iran is nothing more than a way to divert attention from the Epstein scandal. “I’m not a constitutionalist, but I think that whoever runs roughshod over Congress and starts a war as a distraction for being a pedophile should be obliged to send their offspring to the first line“, wrote another user.

Although the online campaign is largely symbolic, Barron Trump probably couldn’t be enlisted even if he wanted to. At 2.05 meters tall, son of Trump exceeds the maximum height limit required by most branches of the US Military, which generally have a maximum of 2.03 meters.
