The Cecierj foundation (Center for Sciences and Distance Higher Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro) is open for registration, until March 15, for the free extension course in special and inclusive education.
There are 1,500 vacancies for those interested in deepening teaching strategies aimed at the inclusion of students with disabilities and specific educational needs.
The course is offered via distance learning, with a course load of 180 hours. The activities take place in a virtual environment, with readings, videos and assessment tasks released weekly on Tuesdays, which requires organization and constant monitoring of the schedule by course participants.
Throughout the year, four simultaneous meetings are planned for interaction with mediators and clarification of doubts.
At the end of the training, participants must prepare an individual final work in the format of an experience report, presenting practices developed in the area of . Presentation of this work is in person and mandatory for certification.
Certification will be granted in two ways: improvement in special and inclusive education for those with higher education and qualification in special and inclusive education for those who do not yet have a degree.
The program content includes topics such as policies and accessibility, differentiation and curricular flexibility, assistive technology and alternative communication.
There are also modules aimed at the inclusion of students with visual, hearing, intellectual, physical and multiple disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, high abilities and giftedness, and learning disorders.
The academic period runs from March 18th to December 30th. Access to the virtual classroom will only be available from the course start date. The coordination advises that candidates follow the calendar on the Cecierj website, as dates can be adjusted.
