Defense confirms death of Sicário, Vorcaro’s employee

Luiz Phillipi Mourão had been hospitalized since Wednesday (4th March) after trying to kill himself while he was detained at the PF; corporation did not detail what happened

Luiz’s defense Phillipi Machado de Moraes Mourão, Daniel Vorcaro’s employee and key witness in the Banco Master case, confirmed his death on Friday night (March 6, 2026). Known by the nickname Sicário (read more below), he had been hospitalized since Wednesday (Mar 4) at Hospital João 23, in Belo Horizonte, after , according to the Federal Police.

“We inform that the clinical condition of Luiz Phillipi Machado de Moraes Mourão resulted in death, which was legally declared at 6:55 pm, after the closure of the brain death protocol that began today, 03/06/26, at around 10:15 am. The body will be sent to the Legal Medical Institute, following the legal protocol”says the note from lawyer Robson Lucas da Silva.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT

The Federal Police at 4:55 pm on Wednesday (Mar 4) that Sicário ““. He had been there hours before and was in the custody of the corporation at the Regional Superintendence of the Federal Police in Minas Gerais, in Belo Horizonte. He stated that he was taken to the hospital and that Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the case at the STF (Supreme Federal Court), was notified. The PF does not explain what happened or under what circumstances Vorcaro’s ally was found.

WHO IS THE SICÁRIO

Luiz Phillipi Mourão was part of the “intimidation nucleus” from Vorcaro’s adversaries and opponents, according to the Federal Police. In the decision that authorized the operation this Wednesday (March 4), Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the case at the Supreme Court, cites two conversations between him and the banker that could be interpreted as intimidation:

  • threat against journalist – Vorcaro, who works at the newspaper The Globeand states that “we had to have people following this guy to get everything from him”. Sicário responds: “I’m going to do this”. Afterwards, the banker declares that he wants to “give a break” in the professional;
  • threat against employee – in , Vorcaro says he was threatened by a maid and claims that “you have to grind this slut”. Sicário asks what to do. The banker then says: “Address everything”.

Here is what Mendonça says about Luiz Phillipi:

  • had a direct relationship with Vorcaro;
  • received R$ 1 million per month for your “illegal services” –the amount was paid through Fabiano Zettel, also arrested in the operation this Wednesday (4th March);
  • was responsible for obtaining confidential information, monitoring people and “neutralization of situations considered sensitive to the interests of the investigated group”;
  • there is evidence that it is restricted to systems of public bodies;
  • He was the one who coordinated the group known as A Turma, responsible for intimidating people.
