Wood beetles are small beetles from the leather beetles family. The bothersome ones they can cause a lot of damage to your home. Their larvae feed on organic materials, destroying carpets, woolen clothing, leather, and also dry food.

The black beetle is a small beetle from the dermestid family. The most common is the Smirnov’s shabak or the two-spotted shabak. These are small, black or brown beetles, ranging from 2.5 to 5 mm. The insects are oval, with the two-spotted vulture having two characteristic dots on its back.

Rogues are a nuisance whose larvae (up to 10 mm long) are hairy and light brown, and feed on organic materials. The presence of roaches can be recognized by the damage they cause. In many places you can find traces of their feeding.

Smirnov’s shubak used to occur only in Africa. In the 1960s it was observed for the first time in Europe – in Moscow. Since then, it has also spread to other areas. It only came to Poland in 2000. It probably moved with parcels or luggage.

However, it is worth knowing that red scurries can also move from apartment to apartment, for example thanks to pipes or ventilation. Adult roaches can fly, so they can also enter homes through windows or doors.

Rogues contaminate food products such as flour, spices, tea and even dry pet food. They also damage natural leather, wool, carpets and fur products. They leave holes in fabrics and feces. Sometimes you can too just notice these little beetles. Some also leave pheromone traps that attract adults.

You can find gibberish in wardrobes and closets. They can also hide under carpets or in the cracks of furniture. To check whether they are feeding in our house, it is worth placing a woolen sweater on the floor. After a few hours, you can pick it up and shake it out over the bathtub.

You can fight roaches with home remedies. These insects do not like citrus fruits, the smell of mint and eucalyptus, as well as spices such as cloves. They also hate the smell of vanilla. You can cut a lemon in half, stick cloves in it and make a natural repellent for roaches. You can also sprinkle essential oils in various corners of your home.

If they appear in the apartment, they must be thoroughly vacuumed and the textiles washed at high temperatures (above 60 degrees Celsius). We also need to thoroughly clean the wardrobes. If all these actions are not effective, it will be necessary to call in specialists for help.
