Viseu city hall wants to increase the number of abandoned cars removed from the streets. The “Chapa Isso no Jardim” project aims for citizens to flag abandoned vehicles on public roads. The amount obtained from the sale at public auction will be invested in the creation of green and leisure spaces.
They start out looking like just one of many. Then, time passes, signs of abandonment become more evident and, in addition to the Brazilian Traffic Code, public health also comes into play.
One of the cars, now removed by the municipal police of Viseu, was the target of a complaint. In addition to being abandoned, it was right-handed. It could easily be used for various purposes without major difficulties or break-ins.
In the last year, like this one, there have been many interventions by the municipal police. At public auction there are now more than 30 cars. Some of them are just scrapothers good business for those who know this area.
But, for Viseu, it is another free placeone less monster to ruin the landscape and, from now on, a source of income to be applied in public spaces in the municipality.
“Chacha Isto no Jardim” is the campaign launched by the municipality of Viseu. Accepted alerts for the location of abandoned cars in the municipality and also suggestions on what to do with the amounts raised from the sale of these vehicles.
