WASHINGTON, March 9 (Reuters) – United States President Donald Trump considers that the war against Iran “is practically over” and that the United States is “way ahead” of its initial estimated deadline of four or five weeks, according to a report from a CBS News reporter on platform X, citing an interview with Trump.
“I think the war is pretty much over, pretty much. They have no Navy, they have no communications, they have no Air Force,” Trump said, according to CBS News White House reporter Weijia Jiang.
Trump also said the US is “way ahead” of its initial estimated 4-5 week timeframe for war, according to the reporter.
Regarding Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump told CBS News: “I don’t have any message for him.”
Trump said he has someone in mind to replace Khamenei, but did not elaborate.
