Institute launches award for young journalists – 03/09/2026 – Novo em Folha

Journalism students can sign up for the 18th edition of the Young Journalist Fernando Pacheco Brandão award, promoted by. In 2026, the award’s theme is “Brazil and the UN 2030 Agenda: challenges of sustainable development”.

Five agenda proposals will be selected, one from each region of the country, focusing on human rights, inequalities, social justice, democracy, sustainability and public policies.

Registrations will only be accepted from groups made up of up to three people, in addition to a guiding teacher. The teams will receive a grant of R$6,000 to carry out the project. Members will also have their expenses paid to participate in the diploma ceremony in São Paulo.

The awards will select five winning groups, one from each region of the country. The chosen agendas must be developed in video format —report or documentary— with a maximum duration of 15 minutes. The winning entries will be announced on May 6th.
