Genial/Quaest research released this Thursday (12) shows that 72% of Brazilians understand that the (Federal Supreme Court) has too much power.
Furthermore, 66% said it was important to vote this year for candidates committed to impeaching court ministers.
heard 2,004 people from Friday (6) to Monday (9). The margin of error is two percentage points, with a 95% confidence level. The survey was registered with the Electoral Court under number BR-05809/2026.
Still according to the survey, 49% of Brazilians say they do not trust the Supreme Court, compared to 43% who say they trust the institution. As of November 2022, 56% trusted and 40% did not trust.
59% state that the STF is an ally of the Lula government—a percentage that reaches 84% among Bolsonarists and non-Bolsonarist right-wing voters. 51% consider that the STF was important for maintaining democracy in Brazil, and 38% disagree.
Around two-thirds of those interviewed knew about the arrest of , owner of , by the Federal Police, and 33% found out only through the survey.
Asked who had their image most affected by the scandal, 40% said that all agents listed were harmed. Among the individual options, the STF and the Judiciary were the most cited (13%), followed by the government (11%), the Lula government (10%), the (5%) and the (3%).
The survey shows that 38% said they would avoid voting for any candidate involved in the Banco Master scandal, 29% would take the issue into consideration along with other factors, and 20% said they would not consider it when defining their vote.
