Imagine you want to be at the forefront of early adopters – and in the end you fail because of a USB stick. This is what happened to the Swiss canton of Basel-Stadt these days. On March 8th, as part of a pilot project, they wanted to enable e-voting for Swiss people abroad and people with disabilities when voting on several popular initiatives. But nothing was to come of it.
