Minister of the STF reversed the decision that had authorized Darren Beattie to meet with the former president in Papudinha
The senator and pre-candidate for the Presidency (PL-RJ) criticized on Thursday (March 12, 2026) the decision of the minister, of the Federal Supreme Court, to senior government advisor (Republican Party), to the former president (PL) in prison. The minister visits the 19th Military Police Battalion of the Federal District, known as Papudinha, on March 18, from 8 am to 10 am.

The STF minister reversed the decision that had authorized the advisor’s visit to the consider. The Brazilian chancellor, Mauro Vieira, said that “the visit of a foreign State official to a former President of the Republic in an election year may constitute undue interference in the internal affairs of the Brazilian State”.
According to Vieira, Beattie is coming to Brazil to participate in a forum on critical minerals on March 18. The visit to Bolsonaro was not communicated or requested to Itamaraty. The Brazilian Foreign Minister stated that the arrival of Trump’s advisor was made official on March 6 by the US State Department at the Brazilian Consulate General in Washington.

Beattie is a senior advisor for Brazil policy at the United States Department of State. The American advisor was recently appointed to the position in the Trump administration. The advisor has already criticized Alexandre de Moraes on previous occasions. He called the Supreme Court minister, for example, “heart of persecution” to Bolsonaro.
