Another important care procedure for lavender is spring pruning. Such cutting of lavender should be carried out if it was not done in the fall. During this procedure, you need to remember a few rules that will not only make the task more efficient, but will also not damage the plant. As a result, lavender will bloom beautifully in just a few weeks. How to properly prune lavender in spring? The best time for cutting is early spring, when the risk of frost has passed and the first small leaves will appear on the lavender. Be sure to use sharp secateurs or garden shears to cut lavender. Blunt tools can damage the shoots and increase the risk of infection. First, remove any damaged, diseased or dead shoots. And shorten the remaining shoots by about 1/3 of their length, cutting just above the place where new leaves grow. When cutting, try to give the plant a compact, spherical shape.
