Representatives from the top leadership met this Friday (13) with the governor of , (Republicans), and reinforced their political proximity to him. Although support for the governor’s reelection has not been formalized, this is the path considered natural by the tucanos.
“We showed him [Tarcísio] the process of strengthening the PSDB. We will now, in the party window, exceed 20 parliamentarians, and 30 in . This will enable us to return to leading a project from the democratic center for the country, which seems to me very close to what the governor defends”, said the party’s national president, Aécio Neves.
He was accompanied by the president of the party in São Paulo, Paulo Serra, and the mayor of Marília, Vinicius Camarinha. Serra, former mayor of Santo André, is a pre-candidate for the Senate.
In the conversation, Tarcísio praised the party several times, saying at one point that he felt like a toucan in the way he saw the country, the world and public management. He also mentioned the legacy of former governor Mário Covas (1995-2001).
The tucanos did not miss the opportunity to mention that the process of dehydration of the party in the state was largely orchestrated from within the Tarcísio government.
The reference is to the Government Secretary, Gilberto Kassab, president of the PSD, who affiliated several PSDB staff. Tarcísio reportedly said he was willing to help in the process of rebuilding the party.
