Either the regime in Tehran falls, or changes course, or capitulates, or President Donald Trump suffers an important political defeat, eight months before the mid-term legislative elections. This is what is called a war of survival. The Gulf countries and their neighbors are in a delicate position. They don’t want war, but they need to defend themselves. The question that arises is: will they lean towards Iran or the USA?
