Cruzeiro announced on Sunday night (15) that Tite will not continue to lead the team. The coach from Rio Grande do Sul falls after a 3-3 draw with Vasco and a poor start to the Brazilian Championship.
The announcement was made by the club’s vice-president, Pedro Junio. Tite was dismissed in the locker room shortly after the game ended.
The director apologized to the fans for the poor results at the beginning of the tournament, and stated that Wesley Carvalho will take over the team as an interim from this Monday (16). “We thank Tite and his entire commission for the service provided to Cruzeiro, they were dedicated and dedicated, but our results and our performance make us make this decision to change,” said Pedro Junio in a video.
Tite took over Cruzeiro in December replacing Leonardo Jardim, who left the Minas Gerais club after last season. At the head of the team, he suffered three draws and three defeats in the Brazilian Championship. The team has not yet won and is second in the competition, with just one point more than Internacional.
