What is plaguing the Federal Supreme Court () brings to light a fact: legal knowledge is not enough to face circumstances of a political nature. This is what can be seen from the ministers’ bewilderment in their search for a way out of the labyrinth in which they find themselves.
They differ in their reading of the scene, they do not understand the reasons for the image erosion, they are divided in the choice of ways to react. For some it seems that it is better to bet on esprit de corps, in the hope that the time of oblivion will find its way. In others, the realistic view prevails that the solution lies in correcting behavior.
This happens in the internal environment of the court, because outside of it there is a perception that the situation requires a radical attitude: the removal of ministers and . If it is not now through a voluntary request for leave or early retirement, it will end up being a clamor for both.
Maybe not now, when the containment barrier has the partnership of the also embroiled president of Congress, (), in Amapá’s troubles with . This could change if the change in the correlation of forces is confirmed after the polls on October 4th.
The election of senators will be decided in the first round, three weeks away from the result of the presidential contest. If the expectation that the current opposition will have a majority in the Senate is confirmed, it is likely that the PT’s finalist opponent will be led to adopt the banner of an external solution. That is to say, impeachment, if internal measures have not been taken.
At the beginning of February 2027, this majority will choose the new president of the House, responsible for proceeding with any of the numerous requests that have already been presented. One is enough to fulfill that campaign promise.
