PF says that INSS CPI reinserted Vorcaro’s data into the system after STF ordered it to be deleted

The Federal Police reported this Wednesday, 18, that it found the “reintroduction, into the Federal Senate environment, of previously excluded data” by the corporation itself during the material removal operation determined by the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The measure complied with the decision of Minister André Mendonça.

According to an official note, the reinsertion took place following a “direct request from the CPMI Presidency to the Apple company”. The request generated a “new flow of downloading and storing files, outside the initial control of the judicially established chain of custody”, according to the PF. The facts were communicated to Mendonça. The president of the INSS CPI, senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), has not yet commented.

The extraction and deletion operation was carried out on Tuesday, 17th. The PF stated that the procedures followed “strict observance of chain of custody protocols, evidentiary integrity and segregation of sensitive information”.

Mendonça suspended parliamentarians’ access to material in the safe room on Monday, 16th, after the leak of Daniel Vorcaro’s private conversations published in the press.

Among the content obtained by CPMI were messages exchanged between the businessman and Martha Graeff, as well as emails and a contact book with the names of three STF ministers: Alexandre de Moraes, Dias Toffoli and Kassio Nunes Marques.

The material was extracted from the iCloud account linked to Vorcaro and did not undergo prior filtering by the Federal Police, which raised concerns in the court about the circulation of personal data unrelated to the object of the investigation.

Vorcaro is arrested by order of Mendonça as part of Operation Compliance Zero, which investigates fraud involving Banco Master.
