Flávio arrives more prepared than Jair Bolsonaro, says Queiroga

Former Minister of Health says that former president hurriedly assembles team after stabbing; son competes with more structure and experience

The former Minister of Health (PL-PB) stated, this Wednesday (18.mar.2026), that the senator and pre-candidate for the Presidency (PL-RJ) has a superior political articulation and government team than those (PL) had when taking over the Executive in 2019.

Queiroga told the Poder360 that the former president would have faced initial difficulties in forming his secretariat and establishing dialogue with Congress. Bolsonaro “I spoke to the walls” of Congress in that initial period, according to the former minister, while Flávio would already have a “team to govern” since the first day of office.

Queiroga highlighted that Flávio Bolsonaro also has in his favor the experience acquired during the Bolsonaro government and that he already has a team prepared to govern. The former minister highlighted that Jair Bolsonaro took 2 years to form this structure.

In response to the possible differences between the 2 governments, the former minister compared the conditions of both when taking over the government. Bolsonaro had to set up his government in a month, while recovering in a hospital after being during the 2018 electoral campaign, in Juiz de Fora (MG).

“He knows what he’s going to do, he has the team to govern. And Flávio is skilled. We are working so that, on the 2nd day of the government, Flávio can start working on a program to rebuild Brazil with other bases”declared the former minister, without specifying these “other bases”.

In the health area, Queiroga mentioned having proposed a “Real health plan”. The former minister drew a parallel with the which came into force in July 1994. According to him, just as it returned the concept of value to currency, the Real Health Plan would return the concept of value in health.

“We need to develop the issue of the value of health. So Flávio will do that”he declared.
