According to Inmet, above-average temperatures are expected to predominate in the regions during the season
The autumn seasonwhich starts this Friday (20), it will start hot in Mato Grosso do Sul and in the southern states of the country. The areas most affected by heat should be the Rio Grande do Sul and the western area of the states of Santa Catarina, Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul. The forecast is from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet).
The maximum temperatures in these places are expected to reach 38°C on Friday (20) and Saturday (21), exceeding the climatological average for the period. However, at the weekend, instability should temporarily alleviate the heat in these regions. From Monday (23), however, temperatures are expected to rise again, with the return of even more intense heat conditions.
“The formation and permanence of a high pressure system in the middle and high levels of the atmosphere, centered between Mato Grosso do Sul and southern Brazil over the next few days (especially between the 20th and 23rd of March), inhibits cloud formation in these regions. With the greater incidence of solar radiation, the tendency is for warming to intensify in these areas”, highlights Inmet in the forecast.
