This weekend, an unprecedented campaign of the Agora Tem Especialistas program, exclusively for women, is being held in Acre. The initiative is the largest in the history of the Unified Health System (SUS).
In total, there will be around 676 procedures for previously scheduled patients. The novelty of this joint effort, the fourth promoted by the program, is the implantation of Implanon, a modern subdermal contraceptive method, considered the most advantageous in relation to the others due to its high effectiveness and long duration, of 3 years.

Services in specialties such as gynecology, oncology, ophthalmology and orthopedics are scheduled for this Saturday (21) and Sunday (22). In Acre, two health establishments will perform, for example, cataract surgeries and varicose vein treatment, as well as procedures such as non-aesthetic breast lifts.
Across Brazil, around 230,000 medium and high complexity surgeries and exams will be offered. Promoted during Women’s Month, the action involves, across the country, more than 940 public, private and philanthropic hospitals, which, together, will offer procedures to SUS patients previously referred by municipal health managers, in accordance with the criteria of the regulatory centers.
The SUS service efforts are part of a series of Agora Tem Especialistas initiatives. In the first three editions, in 2025, Brazilian men and women across the country, including indigenous territories, underwent more than 127 thousand procedures, providing more care to the population and reducing waiting times.
