Trump: I am honored to be able to support Viktor Orbán again

Trump hailed Orbán as a “really strong and powerful leader with a proven track record” and praised him for fighting illegal immigration, restoring law and order and strengthening ties with Washington.

“I was proud to support Viktor in his re-election bid in 2022, and I am honored to do so again. Election Day is April 12, 2026. Hungary: GET OUT AND VOTE FOR VIKTOR ORBÁN,” the US president added.

Pre-election polls vary, with many pointing to the opposition TISZA party led by Péter Magyar as the potential winner, which would end Orbán’s 16-year tenure as prime minister. However, other agencies indicate that Fidesz will remain in power.

The leader of the French National Association (RN) Marine Le Pen, Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini (League) and the chairman of the Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV) Geert Wilders have also supported Orbán in recent days.

The Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, announced on Tuesday that, in the event of a victory for the TISZA party, he expects relations between Slovakia and Hungary to worsen.
