Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claim to have destroyed a Ukrainian warehouse

  • Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claim to have destroyed a Ukrainian anti-drone warehouse in Dubai.
  • Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Iran’s claims about the stockpile a complete lie.
  • Kiev offers Middle Eastern states anti-drone technology in exchange for air defense.
  • Iranian politician Aziz said that Ukraine can become a legitimate target.
  • Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded new defense agreements with the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced on Saturday that they had destroyed a warehouse of a Ukrainian anti-drone system in the United Arab Emirates in an attack. Kyiv immediately denied it, according to AFP. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a few hours earlier that he had concluded an agreement on defense cooperation with the Emirates, reports TASR.

The Revolutionary Guards claim that the target of their attack was “the shelters of American commanders and soldiers in Dubai”, while, according to it, a warehouse of the Ukrainian anti-drone system, which was used to support the American forces, was destroyed.

Ukraine: This is a lie

“That’s a lie. We officially deny this information,” Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tychy told reporters. “The Iranian regime often conducts such disinformation campaigns,” he added.

Iran’s missile attacks in retaliation for Israeli and US strikes have fueled Gulf countries’ interest in Ukrainian military technology. Shortly after the outbreak of the regional war, Kiev offered the states in the Middle East Ukrainian anti-drone assets in exchange for their air defense systems. He also sent more than 200 Ukrainian experts to the region to advise on countering the attacks.

Ukraine: The best defense against drones

Ukraine, which has been defending itself against Russian missile and drone attacks for more than four years, considers its anti-drone defense to be the best in the world, writes AFP.

The Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Azizı, declared two weeks ago that Ukraine could become a legitimate target for Iran, because, according to him, it provided drones to Israel and thereby effectively joined the war in the Middle East.

Ukraine’s new agreements in the Middle East

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced an agreement on defense cooperation with the United Arab Emirates on Saturday during an unannounced visit. Ukraine concluded a similar agreement with Saudi Arabia. On Saturday, Zelenskyi also informed that he had arrived in Qatar.

According to AFP, Iran accuses neighboring countries of helping US forces carry out attacks from its territory. However, the countries of the Persian Gulf have repeatedly rejected this and already declared before the war that they would not allow their territory or airspace to be used for strikes against Iran.
