‘Juntos Pelo Acre’ boosts female entrepreneurship in Rio Branco

'Juntos Pelo Acre' impulsiona empreendedorismo feminino em Rio Branco

The Calafate region, one of the largest housing complexes in Rio Branco with more than 18 neighborhoods, received this Saturday (28) a special edition of the program Together for Acre. The activities were concentrated at the Henrique Lima State School and Praça Raimundo Hermínio de Melo, transforming the heart of the community into a hub for generating income and professional training for women.

Led by the vice-governor, the initiative seeks to consolidate female entrepreneurship as a tool for social transformation. In the square, the Women’s Entrepreneurship Space brought together 20 exhibitors who sold everything from crafts and plants to thrift store items and regional cuisine. Among the participants, the highlight was the diversity: from clothing sellers from the Apolônio Sales neighborhood to rural producers, such as Joana D’Árc Nascimento, who brought kibbehs and cakes made with cassava trees produced in her branch, in Bujari.

Training that Generates the Future

In addition to direct marketing, the project focused on qualification. In the rooms of Escola Henrique Lima, 36 residents participated in practical workshops on preparing drinks and fried snacks, taught by the team from Escola de Gastronomia Miriam Felício. For many, like student Antônia Martins, the course represents the first step towards a new career. “I intend to put into practice what I learned and continue in the area of food production,” he said.
