A greve dos cultural mediators from the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA) is taking place this Monday to demand the integration of these workers into the institution’s staff. The strike also includes a demonstration at the Government headquarters, at 3pm.
Hundreds of people lined up at the morning this Monday waiting for the opening of the store in Anjos, in Lisbon. Several customer service services closed following the national strike of cultural mediators.
Artur Sequeira, leader of the National Federation of Workers’ Unions in Public and Social Functions states that the responsibility for the situation lies with the Government.

The more than 200 subcontracted cultural mediators claim the integration into the institution’s staffwhich they accuse of resort to precarious employment for permanent roles.
“These workers just want to be integrated into the workforce and be treated as public service workers, which is what they should be because do a function of character permanent”, explains the director of FNSTPS.
In addition to the closure of services, the cultural mediators’ strike covers a manifestationscheduled for 3pm this Monday, next to the Government headquarters.
In the protest, the “mediators will denounce this situation, approve a revolution and will want to be received by the Government to deliver this motion and schedule meetings so that my hair solutions, what undergo the opening of competitions for tempo indeterminate for these workers to join AIMA”, adds Artur Sequeira, who considers that “AIMA doesn’t work”.
