Film producer Lionsgate announced this Monday (30) that the sequel to the thriller “The Maid” is scheduled to premiere on the same day December 17, 2027. Additionally, filming is scheduled to begin later this year, with Sydney Sweeden returning to her role.
The second film will be titled “The Maid’s Secret”following the name of Freida McFadden’s books.
So far, it has been confirmed that he will be the new star of the adaptation, and that Michele Morronewho plays Enzo, the family gardener, will also be part of the cast.
It has not yet been announced whether Brandon Sklenar and , who play protagonists Andrew and Nina Winchester, returned to their roles.
However, in an interview with Variety magazine, Amanda made it clear that she is open to returning. “I only agreed to participate because my story ends here, but they know that if they make another one, I’ll be in it.”

The story follows Millie, who gets a job as a maid in the luxurious Winchester mansion, formed by Nina (Amanda Seyfried), Andrew (Brandon Sklenar) and the couple’s young daughter.
However, as the plot of the psychological thriller unfolds, it is discovered that Nina’s “instability” is actually a reflection of a dangerous web of dark secrets, lies and manipulation within the marriage.

Little by little, we realize that both Millie and the family she works for hide dark truths, and the big mystery becomes finding out if she will be able to leave that house or if the Winchesters’ secrets are even more dangerous than her own.
