Matej “Sajfa” Cifra (46) and Veronika Cifrová Ostrihoňová (37) they have been considered one of the most stable couples in our show business for years. The couple, who are raising daughter Sára (6) and son Šimon (3) together, are currently struggling with parental concerns. The captain of the jockey show Milujem Slovensko spoke to the newspaper about the concerns caused by their younger son.
The Progressive Slovakia movement (PS) held a key congress on Saturday, March 28 in Trnava, at which delegates confirmed the current chairman Michal Šimečka. In addition to the election of the leader, they also decided to fill the posts of seven vice-presidents. However, Cifrová Ostrihoňová, who represents the movement in the European Parliament, was missing from this important event.
Unexpected family circumstances are behind her absence at the meeting. “The situation in my family requires my full attention. I have been in the hospital with my son for several weeks. And right here it is important to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff,” she said on Instagram on Sunday.
Although she wants to return to her duties as soon as possible, her priorities are clear at the moment. “We are working to make Šimi okay, but it will take some more time and patience before I can fully return to work at 100%. Greetings to all of you.” she told fans.
The couple does not want to reveal the diagnosis or any details of their son’s hospitalization. “Don’t be mad, but we won’t go into more detail about his health, we’ll just say that we’re working to make sure he’s ok. Last year’s surgery is unrelated and we’re doing the best we can with the support of family and loved ones and the great staff at the children’s hospital.” explained Sajfa for Nový Čas daily.
He takes care of his daughter Sara while his wife is in the hospital with their son. Šimon was also hospitalized at the end of 2025, when he suffered from high feversas a result of which he had to undergo an unspecified procedure.
