Federal Supreme Court (STF) with report from minister Edson Fachin, resumes the judgment of the ‘ADPF das Favelas’ on measures to reduce police lethality in operations in Rio de Janeiro

The minister Luiz Edson Fachincurrent president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), maintains the expectation of putting to vote, still in 2026, the unprecedented Code of Conduct for Court magistrates. In a conversation with journalists this Tuesday (31), Fachin highlighted that the proposal is an attempt to promote a “historical-cultural change” in the institution, although he admits internal resistance regarding the timing of approval.

The minister Carmen Lucia was appointed rapporteur of the text and is already working on preparing a draft. According to Fachin, the objective is for the board to have time to mature the text before taking it to the plenary.
