A revelation concerning the private life of the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piadendozzi, has turned into a political issue.
Answering a question during an interview, the journalist and presenter Claudia Conte emphasized that she “cannot deny” that she maintains a bond with Piandendozzi.
Many Italian media, after the relevant revelation, recalled that last February Conte was appointed as an advisor to a parliamentary committee on security and problems in Italian cities.
For now, the party of the Italian Prime Minister, Adelphia Italia, responded that it confirms its full confidence in Piandendozzi and stated that the advisers of the parliamentary committees do not receive any kind of remuneration for their work.
Last year’s similar case
A number of analysts, however, did not fail to underline that last year, the then Minister of Culture, Gennaro Santuliano, was forced to resign, after the revelation of his extramarital relationship with the influencer Maria Rosaria Bocia.
Today, the opposition asked the government of Rome to inform the parliament in detail, adding that, from what emerged, the journalist in question was allegedly assigned a series of courses at the Italian Police School.
Next week Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is expected to address parliament, with the main subject being the war in Iran and the entire line of her government. It is considered very likely, now, to refer to the Piandedosi-Conte case, with its political ramifications.
