At 194 years old, Jonathan, probably the oldest tortoise in the world, has not only survived industrialization, two world wars and the digital revolution, but also an early death report with a fraudulent background. The false report spread worldwide within hours – starting from a fake X account whose operator posed as Jonathan’s long-time veterinarian.
