Fernando Diniz gains strength to be Corinthians’ new coach

Fernando Diniz’s name gained strength behind the scenes at Corinthians to take over the vacancy left by Dorival Júnior in technical command of the Parque São Jorge team.

The conversations already exist and are moving at a rapid pace, and the current trend is towards a compromise. Corinthians is in a hurry and wants to define the new coach this Monday (6), already aiming for the game against Platense, which marks Timão’s debut in the Libertadores da América.

The coach’s staff is in the United States, in a time zone of minus two hours, but did not prevent contact. Despite having a small rejection from people around the Corinthians board, Diniz became the club’s main target.

Timão’s executive football director, Marcelo Paz approves and has confidence in Fernando Diniz’s work. The director even tried to take the coach to Fortaleza, but never managed to accomplish the feat. Diniz has been free on the market since leaving Vasco in February this year.

Soon after Dorival’s fall, president Osmar Stabile and football director Marcelo Paz already mapped the market and made the first contacts in search of the team’s new coach.

In addition to Diniz, Tite and Sylvinho were other names that circulated around Parque São Jorge.
