The defense of (PL) filed a criminal complaint with the Federal Supreme Court against the federal deputy (Rede-MG).
In the action, which was filed at the end of March, the lawyers claim that the congressman released videos on social media in which he called the former president “tramp”, “burglar” e “rascal”.
The deputy also stated, without presenting evidence, that Bolsonaro had ordered the death of the president (PT) and vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB).
In the request sent to the STF, the defense maintains that Janones exceeded the limits of freedom of expression by making this type of statement.
On social media, Janones reacted to the case with another provocation. “What’s yours is safe! Filthy Worm!”he wrote on his Instagram profile.

House arrest
The lawyers also emphasize that Bolsonaro is under house arrest for humanitarian reasons, which would limit his ability to speak out publicly to refute the accusations.
In September 2025, the former president was sentenced to 27 years and 3 months in prison for his involvement in an attempted coup d’état.
A criminal complaint is a legal action initiated directly by the victim and is applied to crimes such as slander, defamation, libel and simple damages.
Through a criminal complaint, the victim can seek criminal liability from the accused without the need for action by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
