The president of Iran, has confirmed in a message published on social networks that the ceasefire reached by the United States and Iran, which is expected to last for two weeks, has the acceptance of the principles demanded by his country.
“The ceasefire, with the acceptance of the general principles desired by Iran, was the fruit of the blood of our great martyred leader Khomeni and the achievement of the presence of all the people on the scene,” said the Iranian, who has been in office since 2024.
“Starting today, we will also continue together. Whether in the field of diplomacy, whether in the field of defense, whether in the street scene and whether in the field of public service,” he added on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter).
The message from the 71-year-old Iranian president arrives and that he finally accepted Iran’s proposal to achieve a brief two-week truce in the conflict.
The ceasefire proposal raised by Tehran, as confirmed by Trump in Truth Social, instead of the 15 that the US had previously proposed (which included, among other issues, the dismantling of the uranium enrichment program).
One of the points of said agreement, for which Pakistan has acted as mediator, contemplates that the Strait of Hormuz, through which it is estimated that nearly 20% of the planet’s oil and gas passes, coordinate with the Iranian armed forces. It also includes the lifting of all sanctions imposed against the country.
According to a regional official, the plan implies that Iran and Oman charge fees to the ships that cross this point, with the aim that the profits contribute to the repair and reconstruction of the country after the war.
From the Israeli side, as reported by several local media, they have also accepted the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities, although they have made it clear that and that they will continue fighting Hezbollah in the south of the country.
His statements, however, clash with those offered by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, who has indicated that the agreement reached includes the suspension of attacks against Iran and its allies, “including Lebanon and other places.”
