Hezbollah attacked Israel with rockets. They say they are responding to a ceasefire violation

Hezbollah attacked Israel for the first time since the US-Iran ceasefire agreement. It claims it is responding to Israel’s violation of the ceasefire.

The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks on northern Israel on Thursday. According to its statement, it reacted to the “violation” of the ceasefire by Israel. TASR informs about it on the basis of the AFP agency and The Times of Israel (TOI) portal.

“In response to the enemy’s violation of the ceasefire agreement,” Hezbollah attacked Israel’s Manara kibbutz near the border with Lebanon early Thursday, the militants said in a statement. TOI reports that these are Hezbollah’s first attacks on Israel since the United States and Iran signed a ceasefire on Wednesday night.

However, both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump said earlier that the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon was not part of the two-week ceasefire. This opinion was subsequently confirmed by the Vice President of the USA, JD Vance.

Israel stepped up its attacks on Lebanon on Wednesday, which Al Jazeera reported killed at least 254 and injured more than 1,165. Several countries and international organizations condemned the Israeli attacks and demanded that the ceasefire agreement also apply to Lebanon.
