US says warships crossed Strait of Hormuz; Iran denies

The United States stated that 2 destroyers equipped with guided missiles crossed the Strait of Hormuz this Saturday (April 11, 2026). It is the first passage of US military vessels through the region since the beginning of the conflict with Iran, on February 28. The Iranian government, however, crossed it, according to the Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah.

The operation aims to give merchant vessels confidence to sail through the strait again. The US Navy carried out the action without prior coordination with Iranian authorities, according to the American newspaper.

US authorities had already stated that Iran had mines installed in the strait. According to them, the country does not have the technical capacity to locate them nor the resources to remove the explosives from the sea.

The President of the USA, (Republican Party), that the Armed Forces sank 28 naval mine-laying vessels. He stated that the country started the “cleaning process of the Strait of Hormuz”that is, the removal of mines, such as “a favor to countries around the world”.

In the same publication on Truth Social, Trump criticized the press and said that Iran is “losing badly” to war.

Your Navy is gone, your Air Force is gone, your anti-aircraft apparatus is non-existent, your radar is dead, your missile and drone factories have been practically destroyed, along with the missiles and drones themselves and, most importantly, your former ‘leaders’ are no longer among us, thank God!”he declared.
