The former senator (MDB-RR) was in Brasília in recent weeks and was instrumental in unlocking the process that could condemn the former governor of Roraima Antonio Denarium (União Brasil) and make him ineligible.

Jucá, who is a pre-candidate for federal deputy, took a tour of the higher courts to ask for speed in the process that has been in the (Superior Electoral Court) for more than 20 months.

There were two requests for review – the last one from the minister, who halted the trial at the end of last year. The expectation was that he would return the case to the president of the court when the Judiciary returned from recess, which did not happen.

Last Wednesday (8), during the trial at the (Supreme Federal Court) on the cases in Rio de Janeiro, the minister made a public demand and, the following day, Nunes Marques released the case. The trial was scheduled for April 14.

“Because there are votes for impeachment, the governor has already left. I don’t even know what the best solution is, whether to leave it or not leave it,” said Gilmar.

The Denarium and Edilson Damião ticket was convicted four times for electoral crimes. The accusation is of using public machinery to carry out prohibited actions during the 2022 electoral period.

In the latest decision, the Regional Electoral Court of Roraima revoked Denarium for abuse of political and economic power. This action is being processed by the TSE.

The now former governor resigned from his position to run for . As a result, he can no longer lose his mandate, but he could be ineligible for eight years. So far, there are two votes in favor of convicting the former governor.
