How more and more cities are converting themselves to cycling

A little brain teaser: Imagine an intersection of Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s drawn vaulted worlds and a Carrera track. Bit difficult? Then we recommend a visit to the largest bicycle parking garage in the world, under the forecourt of Utrecht Central Station. Dark red lanes spiral up and down, with a total of 12,500 bicycles stacked on three levels. From the station forecourt above, daylight falls into large air spaces, digital displays show the free spaces at the entrance and in every storage shelf.
