A robbery involving a luxury watch ended unexpectedly on Avenida Almirante Reis, after the victim managed to stop the suspect.
A couple was followed for several blocks by a criminal group, without realizing it, targeting an FP Journe watch, valued at around 1.5 million euros.
The chase culminated at the door of the house, when one of the robbers pushed the woman and took the watch off her wrist. However, when trying to escape, he ended up falling, being quickly caught by the watch’s owner.
With the help of a witness, the suspect was immobilized until authorities arrived. The other members of the group managed to escape.
The detainee, an Algerian national, was brought before a judge, having been released while investigations continue, particularly to investigate possible links to other crimes in the area.
