Flávio releases video about women after raffling ally – 04/16/2026 – Politics

In dispute with (PT) for the female electorate, the senator (-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, released a video to defend the actions of the government (PL) in relation to women and criticize the PT’s management.

In the last one, Flávio and Lula appear technically tied with 46% and 45% of voting intentions, respectively, in a second round scenario. Among women, the Bolsonarist scores 43% compared to 47% for the PT member. The margin of error is two points.

As shown by SheetFlávio’s nod to the female public comes after she competes for a place at the TCU (Federal Audit Court) less than a week after having launched her into the race under the argument that a woman should occupy the post.

The deputy withdrew her candidacy in the name of a PL agreement to support Elmar Nascimento (União Brasil-BA), and Flávio promised to support her for the next vacancy that arises in the court of accounts.

Flávio’s action was indirectly criticized by the former first lady, president of PL Mulher. She made publications in favor of Soraya on the networks and regretted her withdrawal: “Soraya, TCU would be much better with you there. Sad day!”. In another post, he added: “Attitudes will always prove that words are worthless.”

To improve his image among women, Flávio’s pre-campaign is also considering having a candidate as vice-president. Among the possible names are senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) and deputies Simone Marquetto (PP-SP) and Clarissa Tércio (PP-PE).

The video aimed at a female audience says that the Bolsonaro government acted in practice contrary to the “empty speech of the left” and “sanctioned dozens of laws to benefit women.” Among the measures, it mentions toughening up against aggressors, supporting female entrepreneurship and giving priority to women in the Casa Verde e Amarela program.

Regarding the Lula government, the criticisms that appear in the video concern the area of public security, highlighting the left’s vote against projects to increase penalties for common crimes.

The video responds to a statement by former minister Gleisi Hoffmann (PT) regarding misogynistic attacks by Bolsonarists. Last week, the court accepted an appeal and decided unanimously for having compared Gleisi to call girls.

After voting in favor of including misogyny among the crimes of prejudice in a Senate session last month, Flávio was questioned by his supporter base and went on to justify his vote in favor. The senator says that the project does not defend women, but that he voted for approval to avoid being criticized, as all his peers also voted yes, and with the hope that the text would be modified in the Chamber.

Lula, like Bolsonaro, has also focused his actions on trying to win over female voters. Last week, the PT member held an event to sanction three laws to protect women, which were approved in Congress in March, when the legislative Houses prioritized women’s month themes.

One of the laws requires electronic ankle bracelets to be used as a protective measure to monitor female aggressors. Another includes vicarious violence, when the aggressor targets the children to cause suffering to the woman, as a form of domestic violence.
