United States President Donald Trump said this Friday (17) that the United States naval blockade against Iran will continue until negotiations between the countries are concluded.
The announcement came after Tehran declared that the Strait of Hormuz is “completely open.”
“The Strait of Hormuz is completely open and ready for business and free traffic, but the naval blockade will remain in full force and effect with regard to Iran only until our negotiations with Iran are 100% completed. This process should be quite quick, as most of the points have already been negotiated. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”, he stated on the social network Truth Social.
Iran’s Foreign Minister stated this Friday (17) that all vessels would pass.
The decision was taken after the announcement, which came into force on Thursday (16).
The Strait of Hormuz is where almost a fifth of the world’s oil and gas passes.
In another post on the social network Truth Social, Trump celebrated the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
