Revolutionary Guard says Strait of Hormuz will remain closed

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran (IRGC) stated this Saturday, the 18th, that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed from tonight.

In an official press release, the elite branch of Iran’s armed forces warns that “no vessel should move from its anchorage in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of ​​Oman” and, furthermore, that “approaching the Strait of Hormuz will be considered cooperation with the enemy, and the offending vessel will be targeted.”

The IRGC points out that several vessels managed to cross the shipping route yesterday, but the conditions of the ceasefire with the United States were violated by the “American enemy”, which did not lift the naval blockade of Iranian vessels and ports”.

“Therefore, starting tonight, the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until this blockade is lifted,” the statement said.

In the text, the Guard also warns the owners of all ships that follow reports only from the IRGC Navy, and that “statements by the US terrorist president regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf have no credibility.”
