Time is running out. From July onwards, VAT on selected foodstuffs will fall. This means the tax authorities are missing out on hundreds of millions of euros. New taxes on plastic and packages are intended to replace these. Simply charging deliveries from third countries is legally tricky. The Ministry of Finance is therefore examining national taxes on all online trading above a certain sales limit. This triggers tough debates.
